Prime Factorization
Break any whole number into its prime factors and test divisibility, with the division steps shown. Enter a number like 360 and get its factorization in exponent form.
Try an example:
How the Prime Factorization works
- Divide by the smallest prime (2) as many times as possible.
- Move to the next primes (3, 5, 7…) and repeat until the quotient is 1.
- Write the primes as a product using exponents: 360 = 2³ × 3² × 5.
Frequently asked questions
