How the Profit, Loss & Discount works

  1. Profit % = profit ÷ cost price × 100.
  2. Selling price = cost × (1 + profit%) = 800 × 1.15.
  3. For a discount, multiply the price by (1 − discount%).

What is the difference between markup and margin?

Markup is profit as a percent of cost; margin is profit as a percent of selling price.

How do I take 20% off a price?
